FEATURE: POINTSYNC MANAGER™

What Does It Do? - PointSync Professional includes PointSync Manager, the interface that provides access to all the features and settings in the system. It can be used by administrators directly on the PointSync Server or by remote connection. Users, licenses, user groups, sync rules, database management and all other features are administered using Manager.
FEATURE: DATABASE MANAGER

What Does It Do? - The Database Manager interface inside PointSync Professional can perform two tasks. For users who are not connecting to a third party database (like SQL Server, DB2 or MySql), Database Manager allows users to configure the built in SQLAnywhere database complete with tables, fields and data. The Remote Servers features provide the needed functions and control to connect to an existing remote database or system. PointSync Professional also allows a hybrid type configuration where devices can synchronize with both built-in and remote databases.
FEATURE: SYNC LOGS

What Does It Do? - Sync logs are built into PointSync Professional to help administrators and support staffs troubleshoot problems and deliver support to the mobile system. Sync logs contain information about server status, database connections and sync transactions to and from the mobile devices. Sync logs are configurable to determine how verbose they are.
FEATURE: SQL BUILDER

What Does It Do? - Not an expert at writing SQL statements? It's cool. Let the built-in SQL Builder help you with just a few clicks on your mouse.
FEATURE: DATA ENCRYPTION

What Does It Do? - Data encryption is an important option for some companies, but not all. For businesses who deal with sensitive or regulated data such as finance or healthcare, preventing clear-text data from being sent over the air is critical. That's where Device Encryption comes into play. PointSync Professional includes all the encyption options you need from None, to full 128-bit key based options.
FEATURE: FILE DEPLOYMENT & UPDATE

What Does It Do? - Part of PointSync Pro's device management capabilities includes a nifty feature for deploying files and keeping them updated. Too many times, mobile users unwittingly delete files on their devices, which could cause an application to stop working. In this case, PointSync Professional automatically resends the file to the device. File deployment can also be used to replace an existing file on the device with a newer version.
FEATURE: ID POOLING

What Does It Do? - ID Pooling is a built-in feature that is used to create and enforce unique ID's for new data being created on mobile devices. When new records are created and added to the mobile database, they must have unique ID's just like on a server database. Otherwise they could conflict with each other or when synchronized to the backend database. To prevent database conflicts, ID Pooling allows administrators to enable PointSync Professional to automatically roll out unique ID's based on starting value, pool size and bucket size. When a device depletes its allotment of ID's, PointSync Pro disseminates are new batch.
FEATURE: SYNCHRONIZATION RULES

What Does It Do? - Synchronization Rules allow businesses to determine what data is transferred at a very granular level. For example, your inventory table might be a One-Way sync from server to mobile while your Orders table might be One-Way from mobile to server. Conversely, your Customers table could be set as a Two-Way sync to accommodate changes made on mobile or in the office. Further, PointSync Professional allows control at the field level so you synchronize only the data you need, which saves time, bandwidth and money. Lastly, Filters provide an even deeper layer of control for rows sent or removed from the device.
